How to Maximize Your Ability Score

Your Ability Score is the most important single number in Blue Protocol: Star Resonance. It's the primary metric tracked on our global leaderboard and determines your overall character power. This guide breaks down every method to push it higher.

What is Ability Score?

Ability Score is a composite number that reflects your character's total combat power. It factors in your base stats, gear score, enhancement levels, skill unlocks, and various bonuses. A higher Ability Score means your character is objectively more powerful in all combat metrics.

Gear Optimization

Gear is the single biggest contributor to your Ability Score. Focus on these priorities:

  • Weapon: Your weapon contributes the most to Ability Score. Always prioritize upgrading your weapon first. Aim for the highest-rarity weapon available and enhance it to the maximum level.
  • Armor Set: Complete armor sets provide set bonuses that multiply your Ability Score gain. Mixing pieces from different sets forfeits these bonuses.
  • Accessories: Often overlooked, accessories provide significant stat boosts. Focus on accessories that complement your class's primary stats (ATK for DPS, DEF for tanks, MATK for casters).

Enhancement & Upgrading

Enhancement is the process of leveling up your gear pieces. Each enhancement level adds both raw stats and Ability Score points.

  • Enhance all gear pieces evenly rather than focusing on one — diminishing returns kick in at higher levels
  • Use enhancement materials efficiently by targeting pieces with the highest base Ability Score contribution first
  • Don't skip enhancement on secondary gear slots; even small boosts add up across all equipment

Stat Allocation

When you have stat points to allocate, follow your class's recommended distribution. Generally:

  • DPS Classes (Stormblade, Marksman): Prioritize ATK and Crit Rate
  • Mage Classes (Frost Mage, Verdant Oracle): Prioritize MATK and Spell Speed
  • Tank Classes (Heavy Guardian, Shield Knight): Prioritize DEF and HP
  • Support Classes (Beat Performer): Balance between primary stat and support stats

Skills & Passives

Unlocking and leveling up skills contributes to your overall Ability Score. Make sure to:

  • Unlock all available skills, even ones you don't actively use
  • Level up passive skills first, as they provide permanent stat boosts
  • Complete skill mastery challenges for additional Ability Score bonuses

Daily & Weekly Activities

Consistent daily play is key to steady Ability Score growth. Complete your daily dungeons, weekly raids, and event content for enhancement materials, gear drops, and bonus Ability Score rewards.
